UN-COVERED / New Cover CD!
-
April 5, 2012
Since Jim has been off the stage for the past 7 weeks we were able to finish a CD of cover tunes, we hope you'll find something there you'll like. Check out the "MUSIC" section for more on that.
Next weekend we'll be sharin' the stage with DEAF LEPPARD (the NW's hottest Def Leppard tribute band) at the Back Alley and we are JACKED UP about it!
The Dr said Jim had to sit it out for 10-12 weeks, we've been tryin' to hold him down but it looks like 8 is all he's gonna take.
As always, we're anxious to see ya all out there, up front gettin' LOUD!

February 17, 2012
While we were settin' up at Malibu's last night Jim took a header and ended up going to the ER. Wound up with 9 fractures in his Tibial Spine (under the kneecap). He made it back in time to share the stage with SPIN CYCLE for a couple of songs. At one point it was hard to tell where one band stopped and the next band started, both bands putting together a string of tunes to keep the crowd HOPPIN'!
We are extremely grateful that SPIN CYCLE was able to cover for us, thank you Liz Nash & the boys!

Our first time at Charlie's and what a party it was!
We had a great time, lot's of dancin' and drinkin' and dancin'! The staff here are VERY cool, good food, great drinks, Aubrey took real good care of us on the mixing board and our own sound-guy Eric got to come out and relax and enjoy a show from a table with a drink for a change!
We're definitely lookin' forward to playin' at Charlie's again, and we're REALLY glad you all came out and hung out with us, thank you!

Our CD Release Party and what a BLAST it was!
Lots of friends showed up for the show, we were sure glad to see you all there, the Jager & Beer special seemed to be a HUGE hit (lol). So was the guitar that we gave away (congratulations Kelly Dalpogetto)!
The staff at the Club were GREAT and they've got a real nice hard-rock vibe there. It was our first time playing here and we're DEFINITELY lookin' forward to doin' it again soon. I think we've already inked a few dates for next year so have a look at the calendar, we'd sure like to see ya again.

When we got up this morning we had NO IDEA what to expect...
We didn't expect to play one of the the BEST shows we've ever played, and we certainly didn't expect to have as much fun as we did. We were wrong.
The "Roadies" from OSP are some of the best Sound Engineers we've ever worked with.
We feel honored to have been so well received and made to feel so welcome, thank you.
We will definitely be back next year if you'll have us.
Oh, and the BADASS banner you sent home with us is hanging in our practice studio, thank you!

The Forming (and evolving) Of Shotgun Overdose
-
July 5, 2007
Shotgun Overdose was founded and put together by Jim Fitzgerald somewhere around the 4th of July, 2007 in Fairview Oregon. At this point the band didn't have a name.
Original line-up included James Deel (vocals), Matt Grubb (bass), Shea Tanner (lead guitar), Jim Fitzgerald (rhythm guitar), and Chris Scholten (drums).
August 2007, frontman James Deel was replaced by Tom Moore.
August 10th 2007, the band was named, Shotgun Overdose was officially "born".
December 2007, Matt Grubb left Shotgun Overdose for personal reasons, and a week later Tom Moore followed. Christmas of 2007 found remaining members, Shea, Chris, and Jim pondering the only acceptable solution to their current dilemna...
Febuary 2008, Shea and Jim began working on singing while playing guitar. They practiced at local open mics, in their livingrooms, at any local watering hole that would put them up. Half of the existing setlist was scrapped, new songs added, and they began writing some songs.
Febuary 2008, The band moves the hub of operation from Portland, OR to Vancouver WA.
March 2008, Greg Stokes signed on to play bass.
May 2008, with 2 months of practice, a new setlist, and a reluctant pair of vocalist guitar slingers the first show for this band was in sight.
May 2008, Chris Scholten resigned and Troy Panian stepped in. With just 8 days 'til their first show in almost 6 months, Shotgun Overdose hit it hard and put it all back together. The perfect venue for this next "first show" was the same venue where they played their "original" first show almost 9 months earlier, the Stagecoach Saloon in Fairview Oregon.
The boys hit the ground runnin' and put together a string of shows opening for "Population 361" and then later alternating the opening/closing spots on a handful of shows with "Harsh Polly".
August 2008, Patrick Mulligan (formerly of "Population 361" & "Harsh Polly") signs on to take over the soundboard. The band nicknames him (affectionately) "Buttons & Beer"...
August 2008, Tracy Johnson (TwoForOne Prmotions) signs on as "Manager/Promoter".
January 2009, Shea moves on to pursue a solo recording project and Dan Burroughs takes on the lead axe-slinger spot.
April 2009, Greg leaves the band for family/employment (relocation) reasons and Mike Adams steps in to keep the low-end in the mix.
August 2009, Patrick Mulligan takes on the additional role of "stage Manager".
September 2009, Rex McNew signs on as our new "frontman".
September 2009, Mike Adams resigns and is replaced by Robert England on bass.
January 2010, Troy Panian leaves to persue other projects and is replaced by Paul Smith on drums (formerly lead guitar and lead vocals of "Population 361" and "Harsh Polly").
March 2010, Rex McNew leaves the band to persue a solo project. Jim, Robert, and Paul split-up the vocal duties and Shotgun Overdose is once again, a 4-piece band.
November 2010, Patrick Mulligan resigns as "sound-guy" and "stage manager".
December 2010, Dan Burroughs is replaced by Dave Miner on lead guitar.
March 2011, Eric Sedgley joins the Shotgun Overdose family as "sound-guy" & "stage manager".
June 2011, Dave Miner leaves to focus more attention on his other band and Shotgun Overdose drummer Paul Smith makes the switch to lead guitar. Chris Scholten re-joins Shotgun Overdose after a 3 year hiatus.
WE'LL KEEP YA POSTED!
